לפני כחודשיים נתפס סוואמי ניתיאננדה, אחד המורים הרוחניים הפופולריים בעולם (ובעיקר בהודו) בזמננו, עם המכנסיים למטה. הוא צולם בוידאו מקיים יחסי מין עם מעריצה (שהיא גם שחקנית בוליוודית). הנה כתבה על כך באנרג'י ניו-אייג'. לאחר שבועיים הוא התפטר מכל תפקידיו הרוחניים, ויצא "להתבודדות". השבוע הוא נעצר, בין השאר באשמת אונס, כאשר נמצא במקום מחבואו. מה שמעניין הוא שבאשרם שלו נמצאו חוזים שתלמידותיו הוחתמו עליהם, ובהם הוא מכשיר למעשה את שיגוליו בכסות רוחנית (טנטרה, אלא מה?), ושעל פיהם חתימתן של התלמידות היתה אמורה להבטיח שהסודות הטנטרים לא ידלפו החוצה. הנה ציטוט:
